Placement
Smaller, more controlled placement creates a more seamless, natural blend across different hair types.
The details behind every method matters
Smaller, more controlled placement creates a more seamless, natural blend across different hair types.
How weight is distributed affects both comfort and the long-term condition of the natural hair.
Styling, movement, and day-to-day wear vary significantly depending on the method used.
Different systems require different upkeep – from quick adjustments to full removals and reinstallation.
Tape-ins use adhesive to sandwich sections of natural hair between two panels. They can create quick fullness but are limited in placement and often become visible on finer hair.
Over time, clients commonly experience discomfort, restricted styling, and longer maintenance due to removal and reinstallation. Weight is not evenly distributed, which can place stress on individual strands and cause patches of hair loss.
Wefts are installed in rows using beads, thread, or a combination of both. They are known for creating dramatic fullness, but rely on fewer anchor points to support a larger amount of hair.
This can make them feel heavier and limit placement, especially around the hairline or finer areas.
They’re typically best suited for medium to thick hair and often require a very high investment upfront and at maintenance.
Keratin bonds are applied by melting a small keratin tip and fusing it around a section of natural hair using heat. This creates a secure, long-lasting attachment.
However, they’re not reusable and typically require full replacement every few months. Because maintenance occurs several months apart, bond sections become thinner due to natural hair shed. This leads to increased tension at the root, affecting long-term comfort and hair health.
I-Tips use a small bead to attach individual strands without heat or adhesive. They are reusable, adjustable, and offer more flexibility than fusion methods.
The main limitation is the size of the bead, which can affect placement and visibility on finer hair. This can make blending more challenging, especially around the hair line or crown.
Nanos use a bead approximately 90% smaller than I-Tips to secure individual strands, allowing for precise placement throughout the head.
This makes it possible to work closer to the hairline and around the face, where finer areas need a more controlled approach.
They do not rely on heat or adhesive, and the weight is distributed across many small sections. This allows the hair to move naturally while maintaining a balanced, comfortable result.
After working with many different extension methods, the difference often comes down to placement, comfort, and how the hair wears over time.
Smaller sections allow for controlled placement even in finer areas like the hairline and around the face.
Weight is distributed across many small sections for consistent comfort and less tension.

One of the biggest reasons stylists struggle to build an extension clientele is choosing methods that are simply too expensive for the average client to maintain.
Nano extensions change that.
Because nanos are truly reusable and paired with our premium-quality hair, clients can achieve beautiful results at a much more accessible price point. They can start smaller, add just one or two bundles, and build over time — without needing to invest thousands upfront.
That accessibility is what creates retention, referrals, and consistent extension clients.
This is why we believe every stylist should be trained in nanos. They are affordable, flexible, customizable, and capable of creating virtually any result — making them one of the most profitable and realistic methods for both stylists and clients.
