Finding the Right Length
Choosing the right length starts with understanding how it will look once it’s installed
16"
Chest Level
Great option for clients with short hair or clients who want just volume or a couple inches of added length.
20"
Waist Level
Are most popular length. Recommended for clients with shoulder length or longer hair.
26"
Hip Level
Recommended for tall girls or experienced extension wearers.
Hair extension lengths can look very different depending on your height, body proportions, and natural hair length. On shorter clients, the hair will appear longer, while on taller clients, the same length may sit higher on the body and appear shorter.
Choosing the Right Length
Choosing the right extension length depends on your natural hair length, your desired result, and your experience with extensions.
-
16 Inch
Our 16-inch length is the best choice for clients with very short hair, including bobs or hair above the shoulders. For the most natural-looking blend, your stylist needs to transition your natural length into the extension length smoothly. Going too long on very short hair can make the extensions obvious and harder to blend naturally.
-
20 Inch
Our 20-inch length is our most popular option and works beautifully for most clients. It is ideal for anyone with shoulder-length hair or longer and gives noticeable length and fullness while still being easy to maintain and style.
-
26 Inch
Our 26-inch length is best suited for clients with longer natural hair, clients wanting a dramatic transformation, or those experienced with wearing extensions. Longer hair typically requires more bundles for fullness and blending, and it is more maintenance and hair to manage day to day. Because of this, we usually do not recommend 26-inch hair for first-time extension clients.
Also Important to Consider
Hair extensions do not continue to grow longer like your natural hair does. Over the lifespan of your extensions — typically around a year with proper care — your stylist will regularly trim the ends during maintenance appointments to keep the hair looking soft, healthy, and free of split ends.
Lighter blonde shades in particular may naturally become a bit shorter over time, as the ends are more delicate and can gradually wear down with heat styling, brushing, and daily wear.
Because of this, some clients choose to go slightly longer initially so the hair still feels like their ideal length months down the road. Choosing the right length is not just about how you want the hair to look today — it is also about how you want it to look after months of wear and maintenance.
