Best Leave-In Conditioner for Hair Extensions

Best Leave-In Conditioner for Hair Extensions

Posted by Hair Flair on 14th Sep 2016

Why It's Important to Use a Leave-In Conditioner

Leave-in conditioner helps you detangle and comb your hair more easily, which saves time. Using a leave-in after you wash helps keep hair extensions hydrated and acts like a 'primer' before applying styling products.

Tips

  • Spray the product on the lower half of your extensions and ends – try not to get any on your bonds
  • Use a wide tooth comb to distribute the product through the lengths of the extensions

Our Picks

Bed Head’s Superstar Leave-in Conditioner

It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, it controls frizz and leaves your strands silky smooth. This product also has added proteins and UV filers to further protect your hair. As with all of Bed Head’s products, it has an absolutely delicious scent that has us craving fresh strawberries!

Price point: $48

Where to buy: Most drugstores carry Bed Head products, as well as stores like Winners and Walmart. If you can't find it there, check your local beauty supply store.

Joico Daily Care Leave-In Detangler

Tangled strands do not stand a chance with this little bottle of magic. It smells amazing, doesn’t weigh hair down, and a little goes a long way. Your hair will be smoother and shinier with this gem of a product from Joico.

Chi Keratin Leave-In Conditioner

This one will leave your extensions smelling and looking great. It has a sophisticated formula which prevents future breakage while adding intense hydration that restores softness and shine. It comes in a spray bottle, but I prefer to spritz it onto my hands and then work it into my hair that way.

Price point: $10 - $20

Where to buy: Winners, beauty supply stores, salons

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream -- Argan Oil and Apricot

This is an affordable product that will help smooth out hair. Use sparingly as using too much will leave your hair feeling greasy. Scent is nice, though very strong and sweet (as are all of Fructis’s products). It is a very decent, budget-friendly leave-in conditioner – just use it sparingly!

Price point: $3.99 - $5.99

Where to buy: Most drugstores and Walmart.
