Are Hair Flair Extensions suitable for everyone?

Hair extensions are a cosmetic procedure and should be applied to healthy hair. Hair Flair Extensions specializes in safe, non-damaging extension methods therefore those with medical hair loss are suitable for our extensions. Suitability is further discussed during a consultation – these are always free and no-obligation.

 

What is Remy hair?

“Remy” hair is hair in which all the cuticles are running in the same direction from root to tip. All our extensions are made using only 100% Remy human hair. There are benefits to using Remy hair; it is easier to maintain, less likely to extremely durable and flexible, no tangling or matting and it blends well with the client’s natural hair.

 

How long does my natural hair have to be to wear Hair Flair Extensions?

Hair must be at least 10 cm or 4” in length to ensure comfortable, discreet attachments. We recommend only having your extensions fitted by a technician certified by Hair Flair for the best results

 

How long will my extensions last?

The lifespan of your extensions is determined by the method and hair type. Our Fusion U-Tip lines can only be installed once and should last three months. Where as our Nanolink and Microlink lines can be reused and should last at least a year with proper at home care.

 

How many extension pieces come in a bundle?

Our regular strands come in 25 extension pieces come in one bundle. Our thicker strands come in 20 pieces per bundle.

 

What colour should I get?

For the best colour match we advise that you purchase a colour ring. Each computer monitor can vary so it is best you have a complete match.

 

How much hair do I need?

Typically for a full head application, we recommend five bundles which is 125 pieces of 20" or 26" premium human hair. A half head application is usually 3 bundles or 75 pieces of 20" or 26" premium human hair.

CARE & STYLING

How do I take care of my hair extensions?

We often tell people to treat their hair extensions as they would their natural hair and to not overthink it. The quality of our European hair and way we install the extensions makes them very manageable, however there are a few things to keep in mind.

1.    Do Not Sleep with your Hair Extensions Wet
Whatever you do, just avoid going to sleep with your hair wet. Your hair is weakest when wet therefore when you go to bed, your roots can become intertwined and will dry that way. over time this will cause matting as your bonds will become tangled. This means you and your technician will spend more time at your maintenance appointment de-tangling. Keep in mind most technicians charge by the hour too.

2.    Avoid Conditioner on the Bonds and Scalp
You're allowed to wash your hair as normal, however be cautious of how much conditioner you are using. Try to condition from the mid lengths to ends avoiding the bonds and scalp. Conditioner breaks down faster and causes build up on the bonds. This results in the extensions falling out as they have been lubricated by the conditioner.

3.    Brush Gently
Avoid brushing from the scalp and yanking downwards. It causes stress on the bonds and you risk pulling out the extension. Rather, brush your hair in sections, starting from the ends and moving upwards. When brushing at the scalp, try your best to hold the bonds as you brush. Soft bristle brushes or loop brushes are the best for your hair as they don’t pull on your natural hair. Wide tooth combs can be used when the hair is wet, Hard plastic brushes should be avoided.

4.    Styling Hair Extensions
You can allow your hair to air dry or blow dry it. Remember to not go to bed with your hair wet if you choose to air dry. You may heat style your hair as normal, just avoid the bonds with extreme heat. If you heat-style your extensions regularly make sure to use a heat protectant. This will improve the longevity of the hair. A smoothing oil on the ends will ensure the extensions remain soft. You may also use hair spray, leave in conditioner, dry shampoo, etc.

 

How can I keep my hair hydrated and manageable all day?

Your hair extensions differ from your natural hair as they need additional moisture. Therefore, it is important to keep your extensions hydrated. You can do this by using a leave-in conditioner and/or a hair mask, just remember to avoid the bond area.

 

What products should I use on my hair?

Aim for sulfate and oil-free products. Sulfates contain chemicals that can dry out the hair. Oily products can cause the bonds of the extensions to become slippery and fall out quicker.  The hair products found in our online store are safe for our extensions.

 

How often should I wash my hair?

As a rule, the fewer times you wash, the longer the extensions will last. 1-2 washes a week is ideal.  Dry shampoo is recommended to keep oil under control. If washing frequently be sure to use a mild or sulfate-free shampoo to prevent hair from drying out. If you use purple shampoo DO NOT get it on the bonds, as it can cause the bonds to breakdown.

I am having a problem with the hair I ordered, what do I do?

We are always here to help. Our customer service is available during business hours from 10am - 6pm, Monday through Saturday. In the rare occurrence of a problem with a product that cannot be resolved through routine maintenance, we want to take every effort to resolve your situation. These will only be discussed by the purchaser as it states on the invoice. We will require the first and last name of the purchaser, as well the invoice number before we will begin an investigation. Refunds are not permitted, but we will take every effort to address any quality issues. The steps to determine if there is a genuine problem, and how to resolve it, are as follows:

  1. You must contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.
  2. If the hair is coloured, toned or permed the product guarantee is voided. As processing the extensions is done at your own risk.
  3. Since most problems can be resolved with a maintenance regimen, we may offer suggestions as what product(s)may help resolve the problem.
  4. Depending on the situation, we may ask you to submit photos of the problem.
  5. If the problem cannot be resolve through maintenance, the hair must be sent back to us and received before we can take further action. We handle each situation on a case by case basis, the result of a verified product inspection is replacement.

For us to determine if your purchase warrants replacement, the entire purchased amount of hair must be completely removed and mailed back to our corporate office in Ontario. All costs for hair removal and mailing the product back to Hair Flair Extensions will be covered at the expense of the customer. We will thoroughly inspect the product, upon verification of the problem Hair Flair Extensions will bear the cost to send out a product replacement. If no problem with the product is evident, Hair Flair Extensions will send the item(s)in question back to the customer without an exchange of product.

If you had Hair Flair hair installed and are not happy with the quality, you must inform the stylist who purchased the hair from us immediately so they can contact us about the proper protocol.

What if my package gets lost or stolen?

We automatically add Route shipping insurance on all orders. This item is a small percentage of your total order value, but it will assure that your shipment is covered. If a package is lost in transit or stolen a claim can be filed with Route and they will replace the product. If Route was not purchase on the original order, we are not responsible for lost or stolen items as well as addresses that are incorrect. You will have to file a claim with the carrier. It is important you verify all information before placing your order.

If you choose to remove the Route shipping insurance than your package will not be covered.

How long does shipping take?

Orders placed by 3 PM Eastern Daylight Time are shipped same day. Hair Flair Extension orders are shipped Monday-Friday out of our warehouse in Canada with verified tracking and opt-in insurance. Note: Any fraudulent high-risk orders will be held until our team investigates. Please make sure your billing and shipping information are 100% correct and match the card you wish to use. No orders are shipped on weekends or CAN Holidays. All shipments include real-time tracking so that you always know where your shipment is at during all times. The delivery of your package depends on where you are located and the shipping method you chose upon checkout. For an estimate, please refer to our Approximate Delivery Times.

 

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping rates for vary for each country. We also have expedited shipping for slightly higher rates. Kindly choose based off your needs. Note free shipping is the slowest shipping option.
